While you can live life as a vegan without ever hitting the fresh produce aisles at all these days, it’s not recommended. Junk food is junk food, whether it contains animal products or not, so cooking from scratch is the way forward and altogether tastier, too.
The thing is, even the most commonplace vegan ingredients often have a whole lot more to them than most of us know about. That’s why we decided to create 101 style vegan ingredient guides, so that you can get the lowdown on your favorite foodstuffs and find out a little more about what will eventually end up on your plate and in your stomach.
While we may go “off-piste” occasionally and include things like kombucha and green tea, but in the main we’ll be sticking to ingredients and what they’re all about. We’ll try and cover any history behind these wonderful products, look at the health benefits associated with them, and dive into their nutritional profiles, too.
We’ll also give you a few recipes to try and look at things like how to grow your own at home where applicable. Some ingredient guides will even include a list of fun facts, buyer’s guides, supplementation alternatives, and much more besides, so you’re in for a real treat…if we say so ourselves.
