Greetings plant lovers! Today, I’m going to be walking you through our Vitamix Pro 750 review…and boy am I excited about it.

Why? Well, taking a look at what many consider to be the crème de la crème of blenders is the sort of thing that drives a plant-powered girl wild, that’s why!

As the name suggests, this is a professional blender at the higher end of the kitchen appliance price range, so it won’t be for everybody.

However, if you, like me, use your blender every day, performance quickly becomes more important than price.

So, how does the Vitamix Professional Series 750 stack up? Let’s see, shall we?

Pros and cons

LIKES
  • High torque and lots of horsepower make this one of the most powerful blenders on the market
  • Strong enough to grind ice and coffee beans, gentle enough to mix cake batter
  • Pre-programmed settings make light work of most blending chores, but the Vitamix Pro750 also has variable speed settings too
  • Easy to assemble and very simple to use
  • Sturdy, solid and well-built
  • Squat profile of the jar makes it suitable for housing underneath overhead kitchen cabinets
  • Easy to clean, stays stain-free reasonably well
  • Shatterproof, BPA-free jar
DISLIKES
  • The price – this is one costly bit of kit
  • Noisy. However, thanks to its power, most jobs are over pretty quickly
  • Glass jar would be preferable
  • Removing sticky foods, such as nut butters, can be a challenge
  • Despite being easy to clean, it would still be nice to be able to put the jar in the dishwasher

What’s in the box?

Specifications

Now we know what’s inside the box, here’s the low down on the Vitamix 750 Pro’s specifications:

  • Dimensions: 17.5 x 9.4 x 7.7 in
  • Horsepower: 2.2 – peak
  • Weight: 12.5 lbs
  • Cord length: 6 feet

  • Colors: Black, copper, pearl grey, and brushed stainless metal finish

Motor

As you’ve probably already gathered, the Professional Series 750 Vitamix is an extremely powerful machine. Incredibly, this blender can hit 270 miles per hour with 37,000 revolutions per minute when going at full tilt. This is thanks to the robust 2.2 horsepower motor housed within the relatively compact base unit.

While this is undoubtedly impressive, it lets you know about it in terms of noise. The Vitamix Professional 750 is a vast improvement on previous Vitamix blenders in this regard (touted as being 40% quieter, in fact), but it’s still loud enough to send the dog running for cover! Thankfully, the power means fast blending times, so noisiness isn’t really too much of an issue.

One thing that is really impressive is the thermal protection system and the 750’s ability to keep itself cool whilst whizzing up all manner of goodies. The radial cooling fan does a great job, so if you need to run yours for any length of time you can do so without fear of burning out the motor.

Controls

vitamix professional series 750 reviews controls

This is the bit that makes the Vitamix such fun to use. Thanks to the pre-programmed settings found on the front dial of the Vitamix 750, standing over your blender is a thing of the past.

Now you can simply load up your machine with your favorite fruit and veg, turn a dial, flick a switch, and walk away…you don’t even have to turn the thing off!

Everything is done for you, meaning you can set it running, go fetch a glass or two and return when your smoothie is ready to pour (yes, you still have to do that bit!).

And it doesn’t end at smoothies. There are actually five pre-programmed settings: smoothies, hot soups, purées, frozen desserts, and the handy self-cleaning option.

As you would expect, the Vitamix Professional Series 750 blender also has a variable speed setting too, which gives you greater control should you wish to be more hands on. This feature is especially welcome when using your Vitamix for jobs such as making nut butters.

There’s also a pulse button as well. While there’s nothing revolutionary about that, there is something rather natty about this particular feature as the speed with which the pulse function works directly corresponds with the variable setting you’ve chosen. This gives you amazing control, making the Vitamix 750 Pro ideal for chopping as well as blending.

Not only that, the pulse button also works during the pre-programmed settings too. Holding down pulse will send 50% more power to the blades, giving you a little extra oomph when needed. Nice!

Container

vitamix 750 review container

The Professional Series 750 comes with a 64 oz, BPA-free Eastman Tritan copolyester shatterproof container. (1)

This particular model’s container is low-profile, which will be welcomed by those of you who have electrical sockets underneath your overhead kitchen cabinets. This squat design means the Vitamix 750 slides nicely underneath, making full use of your worktop, but it also means a little less performance, unfortunately.

It seems as though the widening of the jar makes certain things harder to grind down. Ice cubes are a prime example. With the taller, skinnier pitchers found on other Vitamix blenders, ingredients tend to get naturally funnelled down towards the blades.

Weirdly, the squat jar on the 750 seems to allow things to bounce around a little more. Sure, they do get obliterated eventually, but certain things do seem to take longer than other models.

Another thing I’d prefer is a glass, rather than plastic, container. The pitcher is BPA-free, but plastic always makes a product seem inferior to me. While the Vitamix Pro 750’s pitcher does clean up well, it will inevitably deteriorate over time – especially when cleaned daily.

Scratches happen with plastic, it’s just a fact, and I think product which costs as much as this would benefit from a glass jar. Personal preference? Maybe, but I know a lot of you will agree.

Lid

The container is made secure by a spill-proof vented lid with clever little clips which lock in place. This allows you to really take the capacity to the max without fear of the lid coming loose. Some blenders are let down by this, but the Vitamix Pro750 performs admirably when fully loaded.

The lid feels snug without being hard to put on and take off. It also has a removable center piece, which means you can add extra ingredients mid-blend should you wish. This feature also allows you to push and manoeuvre the contents of the pitcher around with the aid of the included tamper.

Lastly, the Pro Series 750’s lid is a solid object. Other blender lids can feel a little plasticky and flimsy, but this is substantial and well-made – important when you’re walking away from your blender in full spin!

Blades

review vitamix 750 pro blades

Equipped with 4″, laser-cut, stainless steel blades, the Vitamix Professional Series 750 is capable of destroying even the toughest ingredients. Legend has it one woman accidentally left her spoon in the jar and hit start only to find her smoothie full of metal shavings once the machine had done its job! Yep, they seem to work just fine.

The quality of the blades also ensure consistency across all tasks. The precision cutting used to manufacture these blades is further testament to Vitamix’s quality and the stainless steel used should stand the test of time well, regardless of what you’re going to be blending.

The blades are, however, non-removable. While this isn’t too much of an issue for general liquid blending tasks, it does make it somewhat awkward to get the last bits of things such as nut butters out of the container.

Warranty

After laying out a decent chunk of change I always like to feel reassured by a substantial warranty. Thankfully, the Vitamix Professional Series 750 doesn’t disappoint.

Vitamix provide customers with a full 7-year warranty, covering the blender base and any containers purchased with the motor unit. Not only does this warranty cover manufacturers defects and poor workmanship, it also covers normal wear and tear as well (household use only).

Vitamix promise to repair the machine free of charge within 30-days. If it cannot be fixed, they’ll either replace the item or offer a full refund (at their discretion, though). Just remember to register your unit as soon as it arrives. (2)

So, what can it handle?

We’ve seen what’s in the box and looked at the contents in depth. Now you’re probably wondering, “What can I conjure up with a Vitamix Pro 750?”

The answer – PLENTY!

Like the rest of the Vitamix blender range, the Pro Series 750 can handle all of the following (and probably quite a bit more if you use your imagination!):

  • Smoothies
  • Juices
  • Soups (both hot and cold)
  • Batters
  • Sauces
  • Dips
  • Dressings
  • Salsas
  • Nut butters
  • Baby food
  • Spreads
  • Flour grinding
  • Coffee grinding
  • Dough making
  • Milk making (non-dairy, of course)
  • Frozen desserts

Cleaning your Vitamix Professional Series 750

Cleaning is relatively simple – providing you’re diligent about doing it straight after use.

As we’ve mentioned above, the Vitamix 750 has a pre-programmed setting just for cleaning. This makes things very easy. Here’s what you have to do:

  1. Half-fill the container jug with warm (not boiling) water.
  2. Add a couple of drops of liquid dish washing detergent to the water.
  3. Put the lid in place, ensuring it has snapped snugly shut.
  4. Turn the dial to the self-clean programme.
  5. Flick the start switch.
  6. Let the machine do its thing (it takes around 40 seconds.
  7. Pour the dirty liquid away.
  8. Rinse thoroughly.
  9. Dry with a clean cloth.
  10. That’s it, you’re done!

Watch Henry’s video above to see just how simple the cleaning process is.

Vitamix Pro 750 review: The bottom line

As you can see, the Vitamix 750 Series is a very capable machine. If you are looking for an all-rounder that’ll get constant use, it will serve you well.

Appliances like the 750 Pro should be viewed as investments. I always reel off the old saying, “I’m too poor to buy cheap”, when it comes to purchasing items such as this. Providing you make use of them, the price becomes almost insignificant when you take into account build quality, longevity, and a decent warranty to back it all up.

That being said, if you don’t think you’ll get enough use out of it, it’s obviously not the right blender for you.

However, if you’re a keen home cook or simply looking to improve your culinary repertoire, the Vitamix Professional Series 750 is definitely worth serious consideration.
